Larry Stokes
Vice President, Human Resources

Larry Stokes was named the Astros vice president of human resources in August 2008 and is responsible for employee relations, administration, recruitment, payroll and benefits for the club and its subsidiaries and stadium security operations, the latter of which was added to his duties in 2010. In his previous role with the club, he served as senior director of human resources for five seasons.

Prior to joining the Astros in 2004, he worked for five years at Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, California, first, as the director, corporate employee and labor relations, and later as the director of human resources for one of the studio's largest field divisions.

Larry also served four years as a senior employee relations representative for the Riverside County Department of Human Resources where he represented the County in arbitrations, mediations and union negotiations.

While an employee relations representative for Alexis Risk Management, he pursued his degree from University of LaVerne in organizational management and later attended the Glendale University College of Law.

For six years from 1984-90, Larry served as an officer for the California Highway Patrol.

In 2004, Larry received the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the Society of Human Resource Management.
