HOLIDAY GIVING

During the holiday season, the Los Angeles Dodgers stay busy in the community hosting a number of holiday events. The Dodgers in partnership with Los Angeles City Councilmember Ed P. Reyes and Council President Eric Garcetti host the annual Dodgers' Community Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway where 500 pre-selected families receive a complimentary turkey and fixings provided by Dodgers Dream Foundation partner, Ralphs & Food 4 Less. Dodger players and members of the Speakers Bureau are on hand to help distribute the turkey dinners to the families. In December, also with the aforementioned Councilmembers, the Dodgers host the annual Dodgers' Community Holiday Ham Giveaway where 300 pre-selected families receive a complimentary holiday ham donated by Farmer John and fixings by Ralphs & Food 4 Less. Dodger players and members of the Speakers Bureau are also on hand to help distribute the Holidays dinners.

As part of the season of giving the Los Angeles Dodgers host their Annual Children's Holiday Party at Dodger Stadium where Dodger players, front-office staff and members of the Speakers Bureau are on hand to read to the children, sign autographs, sing holiday songs and play games.

Four hundred children and teachers from local elementary schools and community centers spend the day playing games, visiting with Santa, and eating lunch provided by Carl's Jr. All children in attendance receive a Dodger goodie bag filled with Dodger merchandise. Also, a "Reading Dugout" consisting of a bookcase filled with more than 100 books is donated by the Dodgers Dream Foundation to each of the organizations and schools that attend the party.
