Dodgers Reading Dugout Program

The Dodger Reading Dugout Program donates books and custom Dodger bookcases to elementary school classrooms and community centers. The program has donated more than 15,000 books since the 2001.

Local elementary schools and community centers receiving Dodger Reading Dugouts include Solano Avenue Elementary, Challengers Boys and Girls Clubs, White Memorial Medical Center's Pediatric Playroom, Salesian Boys and Girls Club, Latona Elementary, Seoul International Park and Algin Sutton Recreation Center, among others.

During an assembly on the playground, the Dodger program donated books to all 32 classrooms at Gratts Elementary School as a part of the Dodger Reading Dugout program. Money to purchase the books and custom bookcases were donated in part by the Dodger players and their wives. At the conclusion of the assembly, Scholastic, Inc. donated a book for each student to take home as a part of the book distribution.
