The Dodgers, Dodgers Dream Foundation, Kaiser Permanente and the Los Angeles Times in Education each year join forces for the annual Team Think Blue Program, which helps students throughout Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Orange counties improve their literacy and language arts while encouraging the development of a healthy and active lifestyle. Over 300,000 students participate in the Team Think Blue Program.
As part of the Team Think Blue program, teachers receive a newspaper-based teaching guide and student copies of the Los Angeles Times delivered to their classroom. Participating students and classrooms enter an art and essay contest for a chance to win Dodger tickets. Each year winners from each grade level are recognized at an awards luncheon held at the Los Angeles Times, Chandler Auditorium with special Dodger guests on hand to present the awards to the youth. All winners receive four tickets to a Dodger game and all first place winners from each grade level are invited to be recognized in a pre-game ceremony at the game.
The Dodgers have participated in the Times In Education Program for 14 years, and this is the forth year under the name, Team Think Blue Program.
