December 3, 1969 > The Kansas City Royals make one of the best trades in franchise history when they send journeyman third baseman Joe Foy to the New York Mets for outfielder Amos Otis and pitcher Bob Johnson. Otis will go on to become a five-time All-Star and help lead the Royals to the playoffs five times during his 14-year run with the club.
