May 7, 1959 > The Dodgers hold "Roy Campanella Night" at the Los Angeles Colisseum, drawing a record 93,103 fans. A three-time MVP, Campanella had been a rock behind the plate for the Dodgers until a tragic car accident damaged his spinal cord and left him paralyzed.
