Dodgers to host Sox in spring series
One of three exhibition games to be played at LA Coliseum
LOS ANGELES -- What will happen during Dodgers Spring Training 2008 remains mostly a mystery, but it will start in Vero Beach and end with three games against the World Series champion Boston Red Sox, one at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
A trip to China is still in the planning stages and unconfirmed, but the Dodgers and Red Sox announced there will be a three-game exhibition series March 28-30.
According to a Dodgers spokesman, the March 29 game will be played at the Dodgers' original Los Angeles home as part of the franchise's 50th anniversary in the Southland.
The Coliseum, which is now home to USC football, will reflect the irregular baseball configuration that drove pitchers and hitters crazy when it was the temporary home for the club from 1958-61 while Dodger Stadium was being built.
Dodger Stadium will be the site of the other two games.
