Maddux trade complete with Watt, Perez
Dodgers send two Minor League pitchers to San Diego
CHICAGO -- The Dodgers completed the acquisition of Greg Maddux on Tuesday by sending Minor League pitchers Michael Watt and Eduardo Perez to the San Diego Padres.
Watt, a 19-year-old left-handed pitcher, was 9-4 with two complete games and a 4.35 ERA at Rookie Level Ogden. He was a second-round pick in 2007.
Perez, a 20-year-old right-handed pitcher, was 4-2 with a 2.91 ERA in the Gulf Coast League and 0-1 in one 3 1/3-inning start for Ogden in the Pioneer League. He is from Venezuela.
Maddux was obtained from the Padres Aug. 19 for two players to be named or cash. He went 2-4 with a 5.09 ERA in seven starts after the trade.
