Dodgers deny latest Manny rumors
General manager Colletti: 'Nothing's changed in 48 hours'
PHOENIX -- Despite radio rumors to the contrary, Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said Monday there is no contract agreement between the club and free-agent outfielder Manny Ramirez.
"Nothing's changed in 48 hours," said Colletti, who on Saturday said negotiations between him and agent Scott Boras had increased in frequency and duration during the previous week, but would not characterize the progress made.
Colletti did indicate Monday that at least the negotiations had not encountered a setback.
"If they're moving backwards, they wouldn't exist," he said.
Colletti's Monday comments came after a Los Angeles radio station reported that the Dodgers and Ramirez had agreed on a multiyear deal that would be announced by the end of the week.
