Kershaw roughed up in loss
Dodgers left-hander allows six earned runs in four innings

A's at the plate: Former Dodger Nomar Garciaparra slugged a two-run homer and had a single. Orlando Cabrera had a double, single and two RBIs. Chris Denorfia singled in two runs. Travis Buck had a two-run single. Rajai Davis had a triple, walk, stolen base and scored a run.

Dodgers at the plate: Andre Ethier had an RBI double and James Loney had two hits and an RBI. Manny Ramirez singled, scored a run, walked, grounded out and dropped a fly ball for an error. Matt Kemp hit a two-run double in the eighth inning and finished with three RBIs.
A's on the mound: Left-hander Brett Anderson was given a three-run lead in the first inning and didn't protect it, allowing three runs in the bottom of the first on four hits. He settled down to hold the Dodgers scoreless for the next five innings on two hits. Russ Springer retired both batters he faced. Dodgers on the mound: Clayton Kershaw had all kinds of trouble the first two innings, followed by two scoreless innings. He finished with seven runs (six earned) on seven hits over four innings with two walks, one strikeout and two hit batters. Guillermo Mota pitched a perfect sixth inning. Ramon Troncoso, being tested on back-to-back days, allowed two runs on four hits in one inning. Cactus League records: A's 14-17-1, Dodgers 13-18 Up next: James McDonald, likely to be named the Dodgers' fifth starter, takes the mound for the second time in Tucson, Ariz., this time against the D-backs. In his last start, McDonald threw three scoreless innings but also left the game with a finger blister.
