Dodgers wives to participate in bike tour
Organization looking to raise money for charity ThinkCure!
SAN FRANCISCO -- Dodgers wives will be part of the Dodgers' ThinkCure! team that will ride in the Acura L.A. Bike Tour on Monday, May 25.
The Bike Tour will be held in conjunction with the Los Angeles Marathon, and the Dodgers are encouraging fans to take part to help raise funds for ThinkCure!, the club's charitable partnership with City of Hope and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles to help find a cancer cure.
Among the wives of Dodgers players riding in the Bike Tour are Juliana Ramirez, wife of Manny Ramirez; Maggie Ethier, wife of Andre Ethier; Abbie Blake, wife of Casey Blake and Tiffany Billingsley, wife of Chad Billingsley.
The course will cover 22 miles of the L.A. Marathon route, starting and ending at the USC campus. The ride is open to all levels of cyclists and it is estimated the course can be completed in about two hours by the recreational cyclist.
Team members will get an exclusive ThinkCure! L.A. Bike Tour T-shirt, access to benefits at local bike shops and area businesses and access to the VIP tent at the USC Bike Tour Expo. They will have their registration fees waived in exchange for a commitment to raise at least $200 in donations.
In addition, any team member able to raise $1,500 will receive an invitation to sit in a ThinkCure! suite at a Dodgers game this season.
