Griffin slam dunks first-pitch duties
Clippers' top pick fires a strike to Dodgers' Kemp
LOS ANGELES -- Pitching can be a dicey thing for taller people.
So when the 6-foot-10 Blake Griffin got ready to unleash his ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday night, there was potential for embarrassment.
But Griffin threw a strike to Matt Kemp and successfully completed one of his first major tasks as the new face of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Griffin was the No. 1 overall pick in this summer's NBA Draft. Griffin starred for the University of Oklahoma last season and won the Naismith Award, the John Wooden Award and many other postseason accolades.
