Dodgers prospect plates three in Javelinas' 8-1 rout

The first-place Peoria Javelinas have chemistry to thank for their success, at least according Andrew Lambo.The Dodgers outfield prospect drove in three runs and scored three time for the Javelinas as they routed the Peoria Saguaros, 8-1, on Wednesday.
"You can learn a lot from having such a good, solid team," Lambo said. "You learn a lot about how you act. We really don't have anyone down on the bench. It helps when you don't have a bunch of guys down and out."
Lambo, who is hitting .353 through 16 Arizona Fall League games, put Peoria on the board in the first inning with a two-RBI double in the first and scored on Casper Wells' triple.
Although he had gone 0-for-12 in his previous three games, Lambo wasn't overly concerned about it.
"It's part of baseball, you're going to have some struggles. You've just got to hang with it and you'll bounce back," he said. "You have to learn how to bounce back from those dry spells."
Lambo reached base three times, singling in the sixth and drawing a bases-loaded walk in the ninth as the Javelinas extended their win streak to four games.
"When our hitters are struggling, our pitchers come in and pick us up, and when they're struggling, we pick them up," he said. "That defines a good team right there."
Wells (Tigers), who had his on-base streak snapped at 35 on Tuesday, cleared the bases with a double in the ninth. C.J. Retherford (White Sox) reached base four times and scored twice for the Javelinas (17-8).
Lance Zawadzki (Padres) singled to extend his hitting streak to eight games. Zawadzki also scored once and stole two bases for the Saguaros (11-14).
Travis Schlichting (Dodgers) picked up the win after allowing one run on two hits in two innings. Thad Weber (Tigers), who Lambo deems consistently dominant, fanned five while allowing two hits in three shutout innings and Robert Wooten (Brewers) fanned two in a perfect frame.
Zach Putnam (Indians) was tagged with the loss, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five in three innings.
