Mark Loretta's baseball career is reportedly over.

According to ESPN.com, the 15-year infielder is expected to retire this week and move to a front-office position with an unspecified Major League club.

The 38-year-old Loretta is a career .295 hitter who spent eight years with the Brewers, three each with the Padres and Astros and one season each with the Red Sox and Dodgers. While playing in Los Angeles in 2009, the Santa Monica, Calif., native batted .232 with 25 RBIs in 107 games.

Loretta attended Northwestern University and has been active in the Major League Baseball Players Association for a while.
