Rangers at the plate: David Murphy hit his first home run of the spring in the first inning. In the fourth, he ripped a triple to right-center and scored on a sacrifice fly by Nelson Cruz. Matt Brown hit his second home run of the spring in the fifth.

Dodgers at the plate: Andre Ethier had a first-inning RBI triple and drove in a run with a single in the three-run seventh. Ethier has 12 hits in 35 at-bats and five have been for extra bases with two doubles, a triple and two home runs. His seven RBIs are the most on the team. Lucas May, with the Dodgers down 3-2 in the seventh, had an RBI double to tie the game and scored on a single by Xavier Paul.

Rangers on the mound: Colby Lewis became the first Rangers pitcher to go five innings this spring. He allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six, dropping his Cactus League ERA from 9.95 to 7.15.

Dodgers on the mound: Ramon Ortiz, pitching for the fifth-starter spot, held the Rangers to two runs in four innings. Josh Towers, in camp on a non-roster Minor League contract, allowed two runs on three hits in four innings of work. Towers looked reasonably sharp for a pitcher trying to win a job as a long reliever.

Worth noting: Dodgers outfielder Jason Repko snapped an 0-for-15 skid with a fifth-inning home run.

Up next: In what figures to be a showcase for either his fifth-starter chances or a trade elsewhere, Eric Stults is scheduled to start for the Dodgers in Sunday's 1:05 PT game against the Indians. Stults is out of Minor League options. Also scheduled to pitch are Ramon Troncoso and Aaron Miller, last year's first pick (sandwich round). The game will also be notable because it will be broadcast on KCAL and KABC, with Vin Scully returning to the microphone for the first time since being hospitalized earlier this week after a fall at his home. Third baseman Michael Young returns to the Rangers' lineup on Sunday when they play the Padres at 3:05 p.m. CT in Peoria, Ariz. Young has had two days off, but he is still hitting .370 with a .419 on-base percentage in 10 games. Rich Harden will be on the mound for Texas. He is 1-1 with a 9.72 ERA in three starts while opponents are hitting .250 off him. The game will be broadcast on KRLD 1080 AM and KXTA Ch. 21.
