LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers announced 2011 season-ticket pricing Monday, with nearly 80 percent of stadium seat pricing staying the same or being reduced down for the fourth consecutive season.
Following what the club explained as "an extensive review of ticketing prices and fans' use of season tickets," 60 percent of the stadium's season-ticket prices will stay the same, with approximately 20 percent declining and 20 percent increasing. The club held season-ticket prices flat following the 2007, '08 and '09 seasons.
Parking prices will remain the same for the fifth consecutive year, with a new $10 General Admission parking option available to season-ticket holders.
The average season-ticket price at Dodger Stadium will go down, from $28.90 in 2010 to $27.70 in '11, and fans will be able to purchase tickets on the Field Level for as little as $20 per ticket, a $5 decrease from last season. Season tickets on the Loge Level start as low as $12.50 per ticket, while Reserve Level season seats are as little as $8 per game.
The team also expects its promotional schedule to be larger than in 2010, with a total of six bobblehead games, six half-price concessions days, four specialty caps and three fleece items. The team will play at home on Opening Day (April 1), Independence Day (July 4), Father's Day (June 19) and Jackie Robinson Day (April 15).
The primary areas that will see an increase in season-ticket prices are the front row of each deck and the first four rows of the Left Field Pavilion, which have become the most coveted seating areas in their respective sections. In all instances where prices increase, season-ticket holders will be offered additional benefits, including free tickets to games on lower levels, Stadium Club passes and complimentary Spring Training tickets.
In the top deck, season tickets will return to 1992 pricing of $6, rather than the $4 per seat at which they have been offered recently. Officials said the approach to Top Deck pricing was driven by a no-show rate of more than twice the other areas in the ballpark.
"Too often over the past few seasons, we have had thousands of fans try to purchase our least expensive tickets on the day of a game, but we were technically sold out on the top deck," said Dodgers vice president of communications Josh Rawitch.
"While that might seem like a good problem to have, the result was that game-day purchasers were often forced to buy a more expensive ticket despite the Top Deck often being nearly half empty," he added. "We're hopeful that this new strategy will open up more low-price seats on the day of game for fans to have a chance to enjoy."
Last season, the Dodgers introduced a five-month payment plan that skipped the month of December. That offer will be back again for 2011, with incentives for early renewal. Fans choosing to utilize the five-month payment plan will have their first payment due on Oct. 29, while those who choose to renew at one time have until Jan. 14 to do so.
Individual-ticket prices will remain flat or go down in 63 percent of the stadium.
