LOS ANGELES -- Alex Tamin, who has worked as an outside counsel for the Dodgers in arbitration and contract negotiations, has been hired full time as the club's director of baseball contracts, research and operations, general manager Ned Colletti announced Thursday.
Tamin will work on contract negotiations and be the point person on arbitration cases, a role previously held by vice president and assistant general manager Kim Ng, who left the club this spring to work for the Commissioner's office. Tamin also will oversee the day-to-day baseball research and operations.
A graduate of Johns Hopkins, Tamin earned a law degree at UCLA and has represented other clubs in arbitration, along with conducting a legal practice focused on commercial litigation.
