Northwest Arkansas split a doubleheader at Springfield. The Cardinals broke open game one with five runs in the sixth. Starter Sugar Ray Marimon yielded three runs on six hits and two walks over 4.0 innings. Roman Hernandez led the Naturals with two hits and an RBI. Northwest Arkansas jumped out to a 5-0 lead in game two, with Matt Fields hitting a three-run homer in the first. Yem Prades posted three hits, an RBI and a run while Brett Eibner added two safeties, an RBI and two runs. Yordano Ventura allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out six, bringing his season total to 23 in 18.1 innings.

Wilmington lost on a walk-off as the Red Sox plated three in the ninth. Starter Kyle Zimmer pitched 4.2 innings, recording 11 of his 14 outs on strikeouts. The 2012 first-round pick allowed a run on three hits and four walks. He has 29 K's through his first 18.2 innings in 2013. Danny Mateo posted three hits, including a solo home run in the ninth. Geulin Beltre was 3-for-4 while Lane Adams added two hits and two RBI.
