Young dealt to Dodgers for lefty Rasmussen
Infielder waives no-trade clause; southpaw has 2.55 ERA in Double-A
The Phillies traded infielder Michael Young to the Dodgers for Minor League left-handed pitcher Rob Rasmussen on Saturday night.
Young, 36, is a 14-year veteran who spent his entire career with the Rangers before being dealt to Philadelphia this offseason. Young, a seven-time All-Star, is a .300 career hitter with 2,356 hits. He was hitting .272/.333/.389 in 125 games for the Phillies and should add depth to the Dodgers' infield. He has appeared in 98 games at third base and 26 at first this season.
Rasmussen was 3-4 with a 2.55 ERA in 16 games -- 14 starts -- at Double-A Chattanooga at the time of the deal.
Young will be eligible for the Dodgers' postseason roster.
