The "Pinch Hitter" Fund was established to alleviate unforeseen expenses and help organizations in dire need by providing relief for lost or stolen equipment, damaged facilities or for uniform and equipment shortages. The following organizations will receive grants:   Atlanta Police Athletic League, Dekalb Police Athletic League, Field of Dream Academy, Gresham Park Baseball & Softball Association, Marquis Grissom Baseball Association, Newnan Youth Athletic Association, Ola Athletic Association and South Fulton Miracle League.

  •          Atlanta Braves Naturalization Ceremony: The Atlanta Braves and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will host a special Naturalization Ceremony at Turner Field for 1,500 people at 11:00am. All Naturalized Citizens that attend the game that night will participate in a pregame parade on the warning track and will be recognized prior to the game.

    •    Major League Baseball, all 30 Clubs and the entire Baseball Family plan to recognize the 75th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's memorable speech.
    •    All MLB on-field personnel will wear a symbolic 75th Anniversary patch
    •    Pregame ceremony recognizing ALS partner organizations Muscular Dystrophy Association, ALS Association and ALS patients.
    •    Special videos will air that include all 30 starting first baseman reading a selected line from Lou Gehrig's famous speech
  •          Braves Strike Out Hunger Fridays presented by Kroger: The Braves host a food drive prior to every Friday home game during the 2014 season to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Fans can donate 20 cans of food or $20 at the Strike Out Hunger Tent in Monument Grove and will receive an autograph from a Braves player or alumni member. Limit of one signature per donation.
