Major League Baseball averaged 33,024 fans per game during Interleague Play, a period covering 19 days and 251 games. Average attendance was 6.1 percent greater than the Interleague Play average in 2003 (31,112) and was the highest average since 2001 (33,703).

The average attendance of 2004 Interleague Play games was 13.3 percent higher than the interleague average (29,141). Since the inception of Interleague Play in 1997, Major League Baseball has averaged 32,730 fans during Interleague Play, representing a 14.3 percent increase over the intraleague average of 28,627.

Overall, Major League Baseball has drawn 35,732,390 fans through yesterday's games, an average of 29,952, which is 12 percent higher than a year ago (31,944,805).
