LOS ANGELES -- In remembrance of September 11, the Los Angeles Dodgers will have a Heroes Night at Dodger Stadium and honor civil servants in a special pregame ceremony.

Prior to the game, Dodger broadcaster Rick Monday will visit with more than 1,000 public safety officers and their family members and friends at the Hotchkin Memorial Training Center located on Stadium Way next to Dodger Stadium. Monday, whose patriotism will always be remembered by his rescuing an American flag from being burned during a game in 1976, will meet and greet the officers. The Air Operations Bureau of the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department will have a helicopter flyover before the game.

The Armed Forces Network also will be on hand to present the Dodger broadcast teams with a special plaque in recognition of its continued support of the United States Armed Forces.

On hand representing their various departments will be:

• Chief William Bratton of the Los Angeles Police Department
• Sheriff Lee Baca, Sheriff Margaret York, Assistant Chief Steve Lieberman of the Los Angeles County Sherriff's Department
• Chief Douglas Barry of the Los Angeles Fire Department
• John A. Torres, Special Agent, Department of Justice - Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms Los Angeles Field Division
• Chief Larry Manion of the Los Angeles School Police Department
• California Highway Patrolman Gary Dominguez
• U.S. Marines Major James Zepko and Captain Craig Flowers
