The Los Angeles Dodgers today purchased the contracts of right-handed pitcher Ronald Belisario, infielder Doug Mientkiewicz, and left-handed pitcher Will Ohman. The club also placed right-hander Claudio Vargas on the 60-day disabled list with right elbow tendinitis and outfielder Delwyn Young on the 15-day DL with a right elbow impingement. Left-hander Greg Miller was also given his unconditional release. General Manager Ned Colletti made the announcement.

The Dodgers' 40-man roster now stands at 40. The DL stint for Young is retroactive to March 27.

Mientkiewicz, who will wear No. 26, signed a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training on February 26. He batted .268 (11-for-41) with four doubles, three homers, and 13 RBI in 23 spring games.

Ohman, who will wear No. 43, signed a minor league contract with Major League terms on Tuesday. The deal includes a club option for 2010. Ohman appeared in three Spring Training games, working a combined 1.0 inning and allowing two runs and one hit.

Belisario, who will wear No. 54, made four Spring Training appearances, tossing 6.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts. He had been reassigned to minor league camp on March 6 without making an appearance in a Cactus League game. He then rejoined the big league club on March 30. Belisario was signed by the Dodgers as a minor league free agent on January 13.

Miller has gone 24-13 with a 3.76 ERA in 183 games (52 starts) in six minor league seasons since being selected by the Dodgers in the sandwich round (31st overall) of the 2002 First-Year Player Draft. The Yorba Linda native went just 4-6 with a 6.63 ERA in a combined 82 games with Double-A Jacksonville and Triple-A Las Vegas from 2007-08. He also walked 152 batters in 130.1 innings of work in that two-year span.
