Next Friday, the Los Angeles Dodgers will honor photographer Jon SooHoo, who is celebrating his 25th anniversary with the team. SooHoo will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the evening's game against the San Francisco Giants and his family will be on hand to help celebrate, as will many of his photographer colleagues.

The evening's festivities will include an in-game video tribute to SooHoo's 25 years with the team, and he will receive gifts from the Dodgers and the city of Los Angeles as a token of their appreciation for his hard work and dedication. SooHoo is the longest-tenured photographer in Dodger franchise history.

SooHoo has been part of the Southern California sports scene since 1982 and his first season shooting for the Dodgers was 1985. A graduate of John Marshall High School and USC, he has covered most local major sporting events including the Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Rams, Raiders, USC, UCLA, Dodgers and Angels, as well as races at the Auto Club Speedway as the contract photographer. He has chronicled World Series, Super Bowls, Bowl Championship Series Games, All-Star Games, Pro Bowls, the Daytona 500 and his favorite non-sporting event, a Space Shuttle launch from Cape Canaveral, FL.

As the team photographer of the Dodgers, SooHoo spends approximately two-thirds of the year embedded with the team, at Spring Training, on the road with the team, at community events or covering the home games at Dodger Stadium.

This season, some of SooHoo's favorite photographs are displayed in team publications, including the 2010 Dodgers Yearbook, the 2010 Alumni Newsletter and September's Dodgers Magazine. Some of SooHoo's favorite images include Kirk Gibson's home run from the 1988 World Series, photos from the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier during the Dodgers' 2007 celebration, images from the past two years' postseason celebrations and numerous behind-the-scenes team moments.

Dodgers Magazine will also feature Jon SooHoo in the "9 Innings with..." section.
