ORO VALLEY, Ariz (March 31, 2011) - The Town of Oro Valley announced today a partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Dodgers Dream Foundation to make improvements to Green Field in Oro Valley, which was recently re-named after Christina-Taylor Green.

"It is truly amazing to see the community come together in the aftermath of the January 8th tragedy," commented Mayor of Oro Valley Satish Hiremath. "The baseball field that Christina-Taylor played on will see significant improvements from this generous partnership. It is currently in good condition, but these improvements will make this a first-rate baseball field for the children of our community to enjoy for many years to come."

Green Field is located at James D. Kriegh Park. Green Field will officially be dedicated at a special event on April 1st at 5 p.m. in Oro Valley.

"We greatly appreciate the partnership and collaboration with Oro Valley and the Dodgers Dream Foundation," said D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall. "Southern Arizona is in our backyard, and we proudly join in the continuous healing process. Christina-Taylor will forever be remembered, and now her spirit and energy will be felt each and every day as other Arizona children play on this special field named in her honor."

Some of the specific improvements could include infield improvements, new scoreboard, extension of the outfield fence, new benches in the dugouts, new bleachers, improvements in the concession stand, and additional lights in the outfield.

"The entire Green family is part of the Dodger family and we are proud to honor the memory of Christina-Taylor and to create an incredible field where generations of young kids can follow in her footsteps," said Los Angeles Dodgers Owner and Chairman Frank McCourt. "This partnership between the Dodgers Dream Foundation, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Oro Valley is just one of the many ways in which Christina-Taylor's legacy lives on."
