Dodgers play rain-shortened tie in Freeway opener vs. Angels

Angels at the plate: Vladimir Guerrero went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Garret Anderson and Tim Salmon hit solo home runs. Chone Figgins went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Dodgers at the plate: J.D. Drew went 3-for-3 with a solo home run. Bill Mueller went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Jason Repko was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Angels on the mound: Starter Jeff Weaver went five innings, giving up four runs, all earned, on 10 hits. J.C. Romero and Hector Carrasco went an inning apiece. Romero held the Dodgers scoreless in the sixth, and Carrasco yielded two runs in the seventh.

Dodgers on the mound: Starter Odalis Perez went four innings, giving up three runs, all earned, on five hits. Eric Gagne, Hong-Chih Kuo and Franquelis Osoria pitched an inning apiece.

Up next: The Freeway Series heads south to Angel Stadium, where Dodgers right-hander Chad Billingsley faces Angels right-hander Kelvim Escobar on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. PT.
