Manager Grady Little said Furcal felt the injury in Sunday's game against Arizona.
"It tightened up late in the game today," said Little. "It's day-to-day. The guy plays through a lot of aches and pains. This just got too bad late in the game today."
Furcal went 0-for-3 on Tuesday against Jeff Francis without getting a ball out of the infield. The switch-hitting shortstop came into the game 5-for-17 against Francis. Little lifted him in the top of the seventh inning for pinch-hitter Olmedo Saenz, whose home run was the Dodgers' only run in a 3-1 loss to the Rockies.
Furcal missed the first eight games of the season while on the disabled list after spraining his left ankle in a Spring Training collision with outfielder Jason Repko. He's started all but four games since, even though the injury never completely healed.
