Cowboys fan Kershaw tours new stadium
Dodgers lefty -- a Dallas native -- calls building 'awesome'

"It doesn't compare to Texas Stadium," the Dodgers left-hander said. "It's awesome. You need to check it out."The new stadium seats 80,000 fans and cost $1.15 billion to build. The Statute of Liberty can fit upright inside the stadium and the Empire State Building can fit from end to end. The stadium also features a seven-story-tall JumboTron, the biggest in the world. Cowboys Stadium opens this season. Kershaw played quarterback his freshman year at Highland Park High School in Dallas. He quit after that season because he "couldn't cut the mustard." Besides, he probably wouldn't have started. Highland Park featured Matthew Stafford, who was picked first overall by the Detroit Lions in this year's NFL draft. Kershaw is 3-5 with a 4.50 ERA this season. He gave away 15 tickets to Friday's game and is staying in his home while the Dodgers are in Texas. "He's developing," Dodgers manager Joe Torre said. "He's frustrated. Like a lot of 21-year-olds, it's not happening as quickly as he'd like. There's a lot of waiting, a lot of thinking between starts."
