X-rays taken before Sunday's game were negative, and manager Joe Torre said Blake would likely get another day off before returning, although he left open the possibility of Blake playing Monday night in the homestand opener against Milwaukee.
"He was in the weight room and must have done something with his routine," said Torre. "He felt something in his left wrist."
Blake told Torre the wrist was sore Saturday night and he felt it again while trying to swing a bat Sunday, "so we scratched him," said Torre.
"He still wanted to take batting practice, but we kept him from doing that," Torre said. "We don't know what it is. Stan [Conte, trainer] thinks it's nothing serious based on where it is."
Blake is 11-for-25 (.444) on the road trip that ends Sunday night after going 6-for-33 (.182) on the most recent homestand. He's tied for third on the club with 59 RBIs.
Mark Loretta replaced Blake in the lineup at third base, with James Loney moving up to cleanup and Matt Kemp to fifth.
