Dodgers scratch Blake as precaution
Wet field stalls third baseman's return from tight hamstring

A daylong rain left the PNC Park field wet. Although the infield was covered, the foul territories were soggy with puddles on the warning track in front of the dugouts.
Two hours before game time, manager Joe Torre said Blake felt well enough to play and that was why he was in the original lineup, "but I may change my mind when I see the field. Where he plays, it isn't wet, but I may rethink it. Certainly I have reservations."
Torre's reservations resulted in the scratch. Ronnie Belliard, in the original lineup at second base, moved over to third and Orlando Hudson started at second base. The lineup also included Juan Pierre in the outfield and Mark Loretta at first base with Andre Ethier and James Loney out against left-hander Paul Maholm. Loretta was 4-for-10 lifetime against Maholm, and Pierre was 3-for-9.
