Howard has now driven in a run in eight straight playoff games with his two-run home run in the first inning in Game 4 on Monday. That's a new Major League record for one postseason. That was also his sixth postseason home run, tying Mike Schmidt for most in Phillies history. He has reached base in 17 straight postseason games and he extended his franchise record with 24 RBIs in postseason play. Phillies second baseman Chase Utley has now reached base safely in 24 consecutive postseason games. The streak dates back to Game 2 of the 2007 Division Series against the Brewers. He is one short of the all-time record set by former Orioles first baseman Boog Powell. Phillies starting pitchers had pitched 18 consecutive scoreless innings before the Dodgers scored two off Joe Blanton in the fourth. Oct. 19 was the anniversary of both Rick Monday's pennant-winning home run in Game 5 of the 1981 NLCS and the Dodgers beating the Athletics, 4-3, in Game 4 of the 1988 World Series. Manny Ramirez has played in 14 playoff games with the Dodgers and is batting .389 (21-for-54) with five doubles, five home runs and 14 RBIs. Dodgers shortstop Rafael Furcal was 0-for-12 in the NLCS before a ninth-inning single. The Phillies have won 10 of their last 11 playoff games at Citizens Bank Park. They have outscored their opponents 63-29 in those 11 games. Outfielder Jayson Werth on the Phillies getting Cliff Lee at the Trade Deadline: "I think it was probably surprising. There was a lot of talk about getting Doc [Roy Halladay] at the time, and you get a guy like Cliff, I think everybody was pretty excited, especially since we didn't lose J.A Happ. He's a big part of this team this year, and I don't think anybody wanted to see him go. To keep J.A. and get Cliff, that was pretty exciting."
