Mets rally to tie in eighth before rain suspends game
After the Mets knotted Friday's game against the Braves, 5-5 in the eighth, enough rain pelted Flushing to bring the tarp on the field. The result, after a 76-minute delay, was a suspended game, to be continued at 6:10 p.m. ET on Saturday before the day's regularly scheduled game.

Familia ready to begin Class A rehab assignment
Injured reliever Jeurys Familia is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Class A St. Lucie. Familia, who has been on the disabled list since May 9 with right biceps tendinitis, will also pitch for Triple-A Las Vegas before returning to the Mets.

Ankiel making an impact early in Mets tenure

Wright focused on trying to not do too much
Above him, the lineup card has changed almost nightly. The Mets have received almost no production out of their leadoff hitters this season and have gone long stretches without production from the two-hole as well. Through it all, third hitter David Wright has tried to not do more than he is capable.

Mets' leadoff spot in flux due to Tejada's struggles
Mets manager Terry Collins has experimented with his leadoff spot all season long. He's tried different types of hitters, but the constant tinkering hasn't led to a definitive long-term answer. But all of that would be solved if Ruben Tejada returned to being the type of hitter he was last season.

Harvey takes on Latos in a matchup of unbeatens

The city of Montreal will rename a street in Villeray to honor Hall of Famer Gary Carter, who spent 12 of his 19 big league seasons with the Expos before winning a World Series title with the Mets in 1986.

Rocky first inning costs Mets in loss to Reds
On a daily basis at Citi Field, a complete and utter lack of offense continues to undermine the Mets. And so they continue to lose, despite obvious improvements in their rotation and bullpen. All it takes these days is one mistake for the Mets to suffer defeat. Tuesday's blunder came in the first inning of a 4-0 loss to the Reds, when Todd Frazier's ground ball scooted through the legs of third baseman David Wright.

Mets to honor military on Sunday
On Sunday, more than 3,000 servicemen and women, as well as their families, will be at Citi Field to participate in the Mets' sixth annual Military Appreciation Night. Since budget cuts from government sequestration forced the cancellation of Fleet Week, an annual event in New York, the event at Citi Field will be one of the largest military events in the city over Memorial Day weekend.
