Left-hander Chris Capuano endured a nightmarish four-run first inning and lasted only four frames to suffer his third consecutive loss. By dropping the rubber game against the Dodgers, the Brewers lost their fourth straight series.
Coming off his first loss of the season, Brad Penny had little trouble getting back into the win column as he tossed seven shutout innings for his sixth victory. Russell Martin roped a three-run double as the Dodgers erupted in the first inning.
