Eric Stults retired the final 13 batters he faced, completing seven strong innings of two-run ball. The rookie struck out nine and allowed just two hits to the powerful Rockies offense. The bulk of support for Stults came in a five-run second inning, which started with Jeff Kent's 16th home run.
