Bergmann hangs tough By Bill Ladson / MLB.com
Jason Bergmann kept the Nationals in the game for six innings in his first start in over a month, but it wasn't enough against the Dodgers. Tony Batista tied the game briefly with a pinch-hit homer in the top of the seventh, but Washington gave the run right back in the bottom half as Los Angeles capitalized on a Felipe Lopez error.

Dodgers win on sac fly By Jayson Addcox / MLB.com
Chad Billingsley pitched in and out of trouble for seven innings, and was ultimately rewarded with his second straight victory. After the young right-hander allowed the Nationals to tie the game in the seventh, Mike Sweeney belted a pinch-hit double and Andre Ethier brought him home with a sacrifice fly for the deciding run.
