Fall Classic on tap for Rockies
Fateful fourth for D-backs
The D-backs posted the league's best record and rolled through the NLDS, but ran into a buzz saw in the NLCS. Arizona's season ended with a sweep at the hands of the Rockies when rookie starter Micah Owings could not stop the bleeding in a six-run fourth inning which was aided by a Conor Jackson error. Chris Snyder's three-run homer in the eighth inning proved to be the last gasp for the Diamondbacks.

Rox sweep into Series
The Rockies are National League champions after a Game 4 victory which echoed their frantic finish to the regular season. Down by a run in the fourth, Colorado buried the D-backs with six two-out runs. Seth Smith came through with a two-run, pinch-hit double, Kazuo Matsui singled home a run and Matt Holliday's towering three-run homer booked the Rockies' ticket to their first World Series.
