The Giants gave the Dodgers two unearned runs thanks to errors in the second and fourth innings, while three wild pitches and nine walks also proved damaging. San Francisco forged a tie in the eighth thanks to a bases-loaded walk, but Bob Howry gave up the winning runs in the ninth.
