Managerial and coaching career
Tim Wallach begins his first season as Miami's bench coach, and third consecutive season under Don Mattingly as bench coach...Prior to serving as bench coach under Mattingly with Dodgers, was LA's third base coach from 2011-13...Managed Dodgers' Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes for two seasons (2009-10) guiding them to a 152-135 (.530) overall record...Led Isotopes to the American Southern Division title in 2009 and a franchise-record 80 wins after a three-year absence from the game. Named Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year, as well as Baseball America's "Best Manager Prospect"...In first Major League coaching position, spent two years as Dodgers' hitting coach (2004-05)...Managed Class A Ranch Cucamonga in the Angels' organization in 2001...Coached at his alma mater, Cal State University, Fullerton, in 2000...Served as hitting coach for the Dodgers' Class A San Bernardino club in 1997 and 1998. Took over managerial duties for San Bernardino during the final two and a half months of the 1998 campaign.

Playing career
Wallach played 17 seasons in the Major Leagues with Montreal (1980-92), Los Angeles (1993-96) and California (1996)...batted .257 with 2,085 hits, 260 home runs and 1,125 RBI...was a five-time NL All-Star with Montreal and earned three Rawlings Gold Glove Awards for NL third baseman...led the Major Leagues in doubles in 1987 (42) and was the NL leader in 1989 (42) and won two Silver Slugger Awards and is Montreal/Washington's all-time franchise leader with 1,694 hits, 360 doubles, 905 RBI and 1,767 games.

Timothy Charles Wallach and his wife of 34 years, Lori, reside in Yorba Linda, CA…inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014...the Dodgers drafted each of his three sons: Matt (2007, 22nd round), Brett (2009, 3rd round) and Chad (2010, 43rd round, did not sign)…Matt played in the Dodger system 2007-2013, Brett played in the Dodger system from 2009-2010 and Chad is a catcher in the Cincinnati Reds system…Wallach was an inductee into Cal State Fullerton's inaugural Titan Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005…received the Ray Boone Family Award at the 2012 Professional Baseball Scouts Foundation banquet…was elected to the College Baseball Hall of Fame in February 2011…won USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Award and the Sporting News College Player of the Year award in 1979 when he led the Titans to the school's first NCAA Division I title.
